CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Porter and Woodman Group is committed to giving back to the community.
Porter and Woodman have been supporting charitable organisations for many years.
The company work with a number of local charities and engage staff in their support and fundraising.

One of our most successful ventures is our regular Coffee Morning. Production is suspended, the warehouse is decorated with bunting and opened up to staff, family members and local businesses – think The Great British Bake Off in in an industrial setting.

A local charity is chosen and promoted, and staff will bake cakes and biscuits which are then sold with tea and coffee. At our most recent Coffee Morning, over £650 was raised for the Iyla Rose Foundation. We have also supported Macmillan and the Mary Stevens Hospice. These events are very popular, and are held around 3 to 4 times a year.

One cause we are particularly proud to support is the Discover U charity, which works to help people with barriers into employment.
We supply Discover U with offcuts of wood and rejected production items which they recover and upscale, and then sell in their warehouse and shop to raise funds.

We have also supported the Creating Chances Trust for over 10 years – it is run by a former Director of Porter and Woodman. We allow the charity to use our facilities for meetings plus some basic administrative work.
